June through to August are the seasons of Monsoon that comes in the final phase during the first week of September. Then comes the magnificent season during October when the trail remains pretty busy. The high altitude area starts to get cold during the November. It's really cold during the December, despite the clear weather.
March through to May and September through to November are considered to be the best time for trekking in Manaslu region. Keep in mind that October is the busiest month for trekking in this region, and pretty much in whole Nepal. Despite the safe time for travelling, you might have your own preference for the time such as the high season or low season. You can avoid October is you do not like trekking in the busy trail. You can experience the remoteness, uniqueness and beauty of this trek from the time mentioned above. Keep in mind that most of the villagers of Samdo village go towards Kathmandu and Pokhara during the winter season crossing the pass. Avoid the monsoon season, icy winter and the time when the lodges remain closed. You shall experience difficult if your lodges remain closed; you might have to end up camping in addition to the potential risks brought by the unfavorable weather condition. Do not ignore to pack gears keeping in mind the possible conditions you might have to face during the trek.

Have a look around good agency
Being a restricted area, trekking in Manaslu region requires Restricted Area Permit, Annapurna Conservation Area Project Permit, Manaslu Conservation Area Project, and Tsum Valley permits. Having a good trekking agency is very important. A good trekking agency shall manage all these permits without you having to worry a lot about it. Taking some of the permits might require you to be personally present. Keep in mind that not all the trekking agencies are regulated, with increased likelihood of false advertisement and misdirection. Before choosing any agency, take some time to read the reviews of several agencies on the travel websites such as TripAdvisor, GoGoBot, Lonelyplanet, etc. You shall find the details of the service, name, address and contact information in such reviews. You can use the internet to make some inquiries with the trekkers who did the trek you are desiring to for. If they are near, meet personally and discuss about the agency they choose. You might be interested to know about any unprecedented problems, their ways to solve the problems, management of guides and porters, the quality of preparedness, hygiene, food and accommodation, required level of body fitness, etc. After you make such deliberate inquiry, contact the agency via telephone or email. You can explain about your preferences, desire, needs, expectations, and terms for the trek. This gives the agency a rough sketch to come up with a suitable trekking package. Before choosing an agency, know about its credibility, responsiveness, language, group details, equipment, medical and emergency, guide and porters, charges and costs, referrals, etc.

Book early
Booking early is essential when you are short in time and could not afford to visit the agency in Nepal personally. Do not choose an international trekking agency for your trek. These international agencies are coordinated with local agencies and guide, making you to pay for middlemen without any meaning. Thus, chose a domestic (Nepali) trekking agency for you treks in Nepal; this shall save your cost. Online booking lets you arrange everything well before your arrival to Nepal. But ensure that you inform the agency about your departure schedule well in advance. A short trek may not require you to have pre booking; you shall get your treks arranged in no time. Do not be lured by the cheap trekking package offers; trekkers often become dissatisfied when not keeping buying some time to explore the agencies and comparing the cost and facilities together. Price surely isn't an absolute factor to judge about the potential service that you may get from the agency, but it is something that might speak about a gross picture about what to expect from the agency at hand. Trekking in high altitude is risky, thus do not mistake being lured by anybody on the street.
After you book, you shall meet the guide before the starting of the trek who shall be with you throughout your trek. The guide shall arrange your accommodation, meals, and explain whatever is before your eyes, be it the diverse geography or the cultural experience. You shall be received from the airport, thus no need to worry about how you might get to a hotel for your stay in Kathmandu. Neither should you be worried about how to hire a taxi to reach to the airport for your departure flight.
