Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will fulfill the custom and visa formalities. You will then be transferred to three-star hotel. The remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure. A pre-trek briefing will be held in evening. Enjoy the delicious dinner and have a pleasant stay.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Take breakfast and then be prepared for Guided Kathmandu city tour. Visit
UNESCO sites like Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Swayambhunath. Get views of Kathmandu Valley. Stroll through bookshops and busy markets.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri
After breakfast, you will be taken to Tourist Buspark at Kantipath. Head north east of Kathmandu and pursue Araniko Highway. Cover 187km road to reach Jiri. Kathmandu to Jiri can be reached in 8hours. The route offers views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Mountain, Dorje Lakpa Mountain and Koshi River.
Day 04: Jiri to Shivalaya
Trekking portion begins from Jiri. We will choose the branched route and walk through the forest. Cross the river and follow the ascending trail to Shivalaya. It lies at 1810m altitude.
Day 05: Shivalaya to Kingja
Walk to the temple and make it to Deurali. It exists at 2710m height. Move through the scattered villages of Sangbadanda, Khasrubas, and Mahabir to reach Bhandar. Lower down from Bhandar to Doharpa and Baranda settlements. Follow the escalating trail to Kingja.
Day 06: Kingja to Junbesi
Lower down from Kingja and cross the forest of rhododendrons and birch. We can get the rare opportunity of bird watching in Everest. Take the ascending trail to Lamjura Bhanjyang. Enjoy the mountain views and take the ascending trail to Tragdobuk. Continue further to Junbesi.
Day 07: Junbesi to Nunthala
Leave Junbesi and crossing the river. Follow the escalating path from the river to arrive at the top of a forested ridge. Get the views of Everest, Mera Peak, Thamserku and Lhotse mountains and lower down to Salung. Continue the journey to Ringmo Khola before climbing to Ringmo village. Climb Trakshindo La Pass and descend to Nunthala.
Day 08: Nunthala to Bupsa
Follow the straight path through Sherpa villages for about an hour. Descend to Dudh Koshi River and then cross the bridge. Climb the hill to reach Jubing. This is a Rai Village. Take the ascending path from Jubing to Kharikhola. Cross the river and descend to Bupsa.
Day 09: Bupsa to Chheplung
Leave Bupsa and follow the ascending trail to Kharte village. Continue the walk further to Khari La Pass. Enjoy the views of Gyachung Kyang and Khumbila Mountains. Lower down to Puiyan and walk to Surkhe. A bit far from Surkhe is located Chheplung.
Day 10: Chheplung to Phakding
This is a scenic trail that is marked by lines of mani walls where the holy mantra- ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ is inscribed. Enter the forest and climb the hill to arrive at the bridge. Cross Thado Koshi River and arrive at Dudh Koshi River. Crossing the river at few points and enter Ghat village. Stay overnight at Phakding.
Day 11: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Begin with a walk into the forest. Cross the suspension bridge over Dudh Kosi River. The trail continues through the scenic villages of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo and Jorsale. Arrive at Namche Bazaar. This is the capital of Sherpa land which is also known as the gateway to Everest Khumbu Region.
Day 12: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Visit the Headquarters of Sagarmatha National Park and get information on the park. Climb to the top of the hill to get views of Imja Khola Valley. The land shifts from narrow lowland valleys to wide valleys that are covered in glaciers. Get views of Taweche peak (6542 m), Thamserku Mountain (6808 m), Ama Dablam (6856 m), Nuptse (7896 m), Kantega (6685 m) and Lhotse (8511 m). A side trip can be arranged to Everest View Hotel from where we can get views of Everest and Ama Dablam mountains. We can also explore Khumjung village.
Day 13: Namche to Tengboche
Cross pine forest and climb to Tengboche monastery. Monastery in Tengboche is the largest in Khumbu region. Go to Tengboche Bakery where you can place an order for apple pie and chocolate brownies. Lower down from Namche to Tengboche.
Day 14: Tengboche to Dingboche
Cross the Imja Khola and follow the ascending trail to Pangboche village (3901m). We will visit Pangboche Gompa which is the oldest monastery in the Everest-Khumbu region. This Gompa is believed to be more than 300 years old. We can get views of Ama Dablam peak before crossing the river and continuing our journey to Dingboche. Dingboche is the picturesque village that lies below Ama Dablam Mountain.
Day 15: Acclimatization Day at Dingboche
This is the rest day. A side trip can be arranged to Chhukung Village. Climb to the nearby ridge and get views of Nuptse, Chhukung Peak, Lhotse and Imja Tse (6189 m) peaks. We can get views of glaciated peaks that towers up to 3,500 meters. We need to save energy for climbing the Kongma La Pass that is 5300 meters high.
Day 16: Dingboche to Lobuche
Follow the straight path along the valley for few hours before taking the difficult ascend to the deep valley that is located amidst Pokalde Peak and Chhukung. The trail winds up to the base camp of kongma La Pass. Climb the Kongma La pass and take sharp descend to Khumbu Glacier. Walk through the valley of moraines and reach the meadow. Walk through the glacier and descend to the campsite at Lobuche village from where one can get the astounding views of Pumori and Nuptse Mountains.
Day 17: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar via Gorakshep Back to Gorakshep
Walk through the moraine valley to Gorak Shep. Arrive at the meeting place of two glaciers. Get views of Pumori (7145 m), Nuptse (7745 m) and Everest (8848 m) mountains. Breathe the clean air. We can trek to Kala Pattar. Sunset from kalapattar is the stunning view.
Day 18: Gorakshep to Pheriche
Leave Gorakshep and lower down to Khumbu Valley. Pass through few small settlements to Pheriche that is located below the looming mountain. The scenic Pheriche is a Sherpa village which is located at 4371m height. Lifestyle in Pheriche is influenced by Tibetan culture.
Day 19: Pheriche to Khumjung
Khumbu is the hidden valley that lies at 3970m height. Follow the trail to the foothill of Khumbila Mountain. Khumjung village is the largest in Khumbu region. Khumjung Monastery is popular for holding a head of the yeti.
Day 20: Khumjung to Phakding
Take early breakfast and descend to rhododendron forest. Pass through the tea houses to Phakding. Stay overnight at Phakding.
Day21: Phakding to Lukla
Return from Phakding to Lukla by crossing Dudhkoshi River. Stay overnight in a hotel in Lukla.
Day22: Lukla to Kathmandu Flight
50 minutes flight from Lukla in a twin otter plane will take us to Kathmandu. You are on your own in afternoon. Explore Kathmandu.
Day23: Departure
You will be transferred to Kathmandu Airport three hours before your flight. Safe journey!!!
