The Manaslu Circuit Trek is an off-the-beaten-path adventure that offers raw Himalayan beauty, authentic Tibetan culture, and fewer crowds compared to the popular Everest or Annapurna routes. Circling the world's 8th highest peak, Mount Manaslu (8,163m), this trek is a once-in-a-lifetime journey through dramatic gorges, lush forests, remote mountain villages, and jaw-dropping alpine scenery.
As a passionate trekker, I’ve explored numerous trails in Nepal, but the Manaslu Trek stole my heart with its untouched wilderness and cultural depth. From the moment we started in Soti Khola to the exhilarating crossing of Larkya La Pass, every day was a new chapter of discovery and challenge.
Scenery: Towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, deep valleys, and views of Manaslu, Himalchuli, and Ganesh Himal took my breath away.
Culture: Walking through Tibetan-influenced villages like Sama Gaun and Samdo gave me a deep sense of cultural connection. The monasteries, mani walls, and chants of monks were spiritually uplifting.
Wildlife: We spotted Himalayan Thars, Langurs, and countless birds in the Manaslu Conservation Area—a paradise for nature lovers.
Fewer Crowds: Unlike Everest or Annapurna, the Manaslu region feels remote and exclusive, making the journey more personal and peaceful.

The crown jewel of the Manaslu Circuit is the dramatic crossing of the Larkya La Pass (5,160m), one of the most scenic and challenging passes in Nepal. The ascent is tough, especially in snow, but the reward is magnificent: panoramic views of the Manaslu range, Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, and Annapurna II. Most trekkers agree—Larkya La is the most thrilling and beautiful part of the trek.
Trekker’s Review:
“Crossing Larkya La was an unforgettable highlight. It was tough but the sense of achievement and the views from the top made it the best day of the trek.”
