Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour (2026/2027) from Kathmandu is one of the shortest, most breathtaking, and most accessible Nepal helicopter tours to the Everest region. A day tour starts from Kathmandu and reaches the Khumbu, past Lukla and Namche Bazaar, in under two hours. Everest is Nepal's most iconic trekking destination, normally reached only after twelve to fourteen days on foot, yet by helicopter it becomes a single morning trip, one of the fastest ways to stand close to the world's highest peaks. It is the best helicopter tour for travelers short on time or unable to trek. The helicopter lands at Kala Patthar (5,545m), the standard vantage point over the Khumbu, with Mount Everest (8,848.86m) filling the horizon alongside Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. On the return flight, the helicopter stops at Hotel Everest View in Syangboche for a mountain-view breakfast before heading back to Kathmandu. Nepal Himalayas Trekking customises every flight around your group, your pace, and your interests, so this is never just a tour. It is your morning at the roof of the world, on your terms.
Embark on a journey to the roof of the world with the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour. Imagine stepping out of your Kathmandu hotel while the city is still half-asleep, the streets quiet except for the rumble of an early taxi and the first calls of the day. By the time most travelers are still deciding on breakfast, you will be standing at 5,545 meters, in the thin cold air of Kala Patthar, with Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse rising directly in front of you, close enough that a photograph no longer feels like enough.
This is the fastest way to reach the Everest region from Kathmandu, a single morning that trades two weeks of walking for one unforgettable flight.
The Khumbu is the spiritual home of Himalayan mountaineering, a landscape of glaciers, Sherpa villages, monasteries, and prayer flags that has drawn climbers and dreamers for over a century. From the ground, it takes twelve to fourteen days of trekking to reach Base Camp. From the air, it takes under two hours: over the terraced hills near Kathmandu, past Lukla's cliffside airstrip, along the Khumbu Glacier, and up into the shadow of the highest mountain on Earth.
Everest is the reason most travelers come to Nepal in the first place. For those who cannot spare two weeks on the trail, or simply want to see the mountain from a different angle, the helicopter tour remains one of the most extraordinary single mornings the Himalayas have to offer.

For travelers who can't spend two weeks trekking, the helicopter tour offers spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam without the weeks of walking the classic trek requires. It can also work well for travelers who are unable to complete a multi-day trek at altitude, though anyone with a heart, lung, or other health condition should check with a doctor before flying to high altitude.
Reasons travelers choose the helicopter tour over the trek:
The flight passes over the Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur and Nagarkot, forested mid-hill ridgelines, Lukla's Tenzing–Hillary Airport, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, and the Khumbu Glacier. On a clear day you'll see some of the world's highest peaks: Mount Everest (8,848.86 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Nuptse (7,861 m), Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Ama Dablam (6,856 m), Pumori (7,165 m), and Thamserku (6,608 m).
Kala Patthar (5,545 m) is the standard landing point on this tour and one of the best viewpoints over Mount Everest, with clear sightlines to Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. Everest Base Camp itself, and the Khumbu Icefall beside it, are visible during the flight. A direct landing at Everest Base Camp depends on the season, air traffic, and weather, and is not included on every package. Ask us if a Base Camp landing matters to you, and we'll confirm what's operationally possible on your travel dates.
Most landing packages include a stop at Hotel Everest View in Syangboche, with panoramic views of the Khumbu peaks, before the return flight to Kathmandu.

Leave multi-day trekking gear at the hotel. This is a single morning, not an expedition, and the helicopter has strict weight limits.
Aircraft and crew. Our helicopters are built for the strong winds and thin air at high altitude, and flown by pilots and crew with years of experience in the Himalayas.
Each helicopter carries a maximum of 5 passengers and 500 kg total. Above roughly 4,000 m, the safe weight limit drops to around 250 kg, so groups of more than 3 passengers usually stop at Pheriche to adjust the load before continuing to Kala Patthar in one shuttle. The average recommended passenger weight is 80 kg; we'll ask for your accurate weight at booking, since it affects flight planning.
Flights need clear, stable conditions, and mountain weather can change quickly. Delays and rerouting happen. Pilots may shorten or adjust a flight for safety, this is normal, not a service failure.
A short time above 5,000 m can bring a mild headache or light-headedness for some passengers. This is common and usually manageable given the short ground time. Onboard oxygen is available if needed.
A 30% deposit confirms your booking. Pay the balance on arrival in Kathmandu, or in advance if you prefer. We accept card, bank transfer, or our website's secure payment gateway (a 4% bank charge applies to card payments); cash or cheque works in Kathmandu. No hidden charges are added later.
Many operators in Kathmandu offer this same flight. What sets one apart is the people managing everything around it, the weather calls, the paperwork, the honesty on pricing, and the competence that makes a first-time flyer feel safe.
How long does the full Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour take?
About 4 to 5 hours round trip from Kathmandu, including the breakfast stop.
Is the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour safe?
Yes. We fly high-altitude-rated aircraft with licensed mountain pilots, and flights operate only in clear, stable weather.
Is this tour suitable for elderly travelers or people with disabilities?
It can be, since it needs no walking route or acclimatization schedule. Anyone with a health condition should check with a doctor before flying to high altitude.
Do I need trekking experience or fitness for this tour?
No multi-day trekking fitness is needed. Anyone with a serious heart or respiratory condition should still consult a doctor first.
Can the helicopter land exactly at Everest Base Camp?
Not always. Kala Patthar is the standard landing point. A direct Base Camp landing depends on season and air traffic, and may be restricted during spring expedition season.
What is the weight limit for the helicopter?
Up to 500 kg / 5 passengers from Kathmandu to Lukla, dropping to about 250 kg above 4,000 m. Larger groups usually shuttle through Pheriche.
What's the cancellation policy?
Weather cancellations get a full refund. See the Safety, Weather & Cancellation Policy section above for details.
Can I customize the itinerary?
Yes. Private charters offer flexible timing and routing, including a trek-in, heli-out combination.
Seats fill quickly in spring and autumn. Check availability and book online →, or message us on WhatsApp: +977 9841044334 and we'll confirm your option — Group Joining, Kala Patthar Landing, or Private Charter — and walk you through the next steps.

Definitely, one of the best experiences of my life was the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour back in May month of 2022. My holiday in Nepal was almost at an end but I had still not visited the crown jewel of trekking in Nepal, the Everest Base Camp. Upon consulting with my friends who had been to the Khumbu region before, they recommended exploring Everest via a helicopter tour.
I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first regarding whether I would be have the same enjoyment and experience from a chopper as I did from trekking. But this doubt was soon cleared as this trip turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. Nepal Himalayas Trekking owner (Mr. Prakash) responded super quick and arranged a flight for me. I was able to enjoy the pristine beauty of the Everest region without a worry in the world as Nepal Himalayas Trekking agency took care of everything impeccably. I would certainly recommend them for anyone thinking of touring via Heli in Nepal.
See you soon

I and my girlfriend have wonderful time in the Everest region with the help of Nepal Himalayas Trekking company. We are able to catch incredible view of white snow mounatins including Mount Everest during this Everest base camp helicopter tour in the Everest region. We don't have more than 11 days, although we are super exciting to do Everest base camp trek and Mount Everest sightseeing by helicopter. By luckly we met mr. Prakash in the street of thamel and operates this trip in this September, 2022. During the journey, there is raining but our incredible trip replace all this cloudy and raining moment. Because we have very helpful, kind, innocent trekking guide and porter in this journey & very young, experience & handsome helicopter pilote to return Kathmandu from Gorakhshep.
Thank you very much for everything. You guys are excellent. Have a good day.

Hello Everyone, if you have time to enjoy your holiday in Nepal, a safe haven with less worry of Covid-19, although the pandemic exists but less compared to other countries. When I arrived in Nepal found everything was as usual with local people full of daily activities, wearing mask and washing hands quite often.
Due to safe pre-caution against pandemic, I was able to book for Everest base camp helicopter tour with Nepal Himalayas Trekking company and this was one of my great experiences flying close to Himalayan giant peaks and at near distance from tallest monutain (Mt Everest) of the world.
Wonderful time beautiful scenery, and the local culture was very impressive.
Thank you very much Prakash for operating everything in Nepal. For sure will visit again.

When I & my husband reached Kathmandu Nepal, there is everything was very normal Although, there were very few tourists and mountaineers that I came across in the hotel, Because of short days hiking in Nepal is not suitable for me. I have just couple of days in this time.
But there was Golden an opportunity to view Himalayan mountains range, booking for helicopter flight with the help of Nepal Himalayas Trekking company to Everest base camp including Kala Patthar. It was great for me it turned out to be most spectacular and enjoyable moment facing world highest peak at very close distance, and then we have very delicious breakfast at Everest View Hotel with stunning views from there.

Probably travelers may enjoy a long trek to Everest base camp, but besides the Everest Base Camp trek of 14 Days, I found out the best and easy ways. Taking the opportunity of the Everest base camp helicopter tour, was a great experience & we both had a good time. Besides exciting views of Mt. Everest, stopping at Everest View Hotel was a refreshing moment with the backdrop of Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam's peak. It was a lifetime memory by doing the Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour with Nepal Himalayas Trekking.

Our trip with Nepal Himalayas Trekking on the Everest Base Camp helicopter tour was beyond all expectations amazing. We have visited more than 20 Countries for different kinds of activities. But in Nepal, this 1 Day Adventure journey was a life-changing experience that will always be woven into the fabric of our hearts and mind. From the Kala Patthar point of the helicopter, We saw an amazing & incredible view of mountains with royal peaks that seemed to reach for the sky. The sheer beauty of nature's masterpiece left an indelible mark on our minds, and each moment unfolded before my amazed eyes like a vivid picture.
Not only that. As we flew through the air, we were excited, but when we landed at the luxurious Hotel Everest View at Syangboche, we were calm again. There, in the middle of the clouds, we ate a delicious breakfast with a Fabulous view of the Top Of the world. It was a feast for the senses that fed both the body and the spirit. The Himalayan giant stood guard in silence, inspiring awe and respect.
We would like to say great thanks to Nepal Himalayas Trekking from the bottom of our hearts for putting together this amazing trip, where dreams came true and the majesty of Everest became a treasured partner on an unforgettable journey.
You are the perfect tour operator & trip organizer in Nepal. We have lots of love. Missing lots. Probably all our German friends will copy our trip.

Our Everest Base Camp Charter flight was perfectly worth it because we choose Nepal Himalayas Trekking.
There are lots of travel agencies in the street of Thamel Kathmandu, Nepal but I am glad that we choose the Nepal Himalayas Trekking Company.
Mr. Prakash, the owner of Nepal Himalayas Trekking, was very responsive to all of our queries during the planning stage of our trip. He provided a customized itinerary suitable for our group and accommodated changes along the way. This tour company/tour operator only required a 30% downpayment for the tour sent via wire transfer, which was not bad. They did not immediately collect the remaining balance on the first day; hence, they asked for it when all of the activities for the tour were done.
Staffs are very nice and accommodating. They guided us all throughout our stay in Nepal. We enjoyed the Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour. We were assigned to a very experienced and calm pilot from Manang Air. Our Guide or owner Mr. Prakash was right when we stayed for breakfast at Kongde Yeti Mountain Home as it provided a spectacular view of the Himalayan mountains. Mr. Prakash surely knew the best spots in some of Kathmandu's iconic places. He was patient and always smiled.
The complimentary Nepalese dinner with the cultural show during our last night in Kathmandu was perfect to end our unforgettable trip to Nepal.
We would definitely consider with Nepal Himalayas Trekking in our future trips to Everest Base Camp Trek & Manaslu Circuit Trek.

After my Gratued, I & my boyfriend travel to Nepal. On the Street in Thamel, we found the Nepal Himalayas Trekking Company, which is operating many kinds of activities including the Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour. Because of a short vacation, we have decided to go on this Everest Base Camp Helicopter Charter tour with this company. They offered affordable cost. We are really happy to get such an incredible 1-day adventure tour in Nepal.
Our trip was fantastic because of the good organizer, suitable Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour cost including fabulous weather. This time we did the Majestic Everest Helicopter tour. For sure, next time we will try to go Everest Base Camp Trek by walking from Lukla Airport.
We are a group from Germany, and in September 2023, we had the privilege of embarking on the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with Nepal Himalayas Trekking Company. This experience was nothing short of extraordinary!
From the very beginning, the service provided by the company was flawless. Mr. Prakash, the owner, ensured that every aspect of the tour was well-organized and seamless. His professionalism and personal attention made us feel confident and cared for throughout the entire journey. He went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and ensure we had a memorable experience.
The helicopter ride itself was breathtaking. Flying over the majestic peaks of the Himalayas and landing at Everest Base Camp was an experience we will never forget. The views were absolutely stunning – from the snow-capped peaks to the serene valleys below. The pilot was highly skilled, and we felt completely safe the entire time.
One of the highlights was the stop at Kalapathar, where we got an up-close view of Mount Everest. Standing at such a high altitude and witnessing the grandeur of the world’s tallest mountain was truly humbling. The helicopter tour allowed us to experience the beauty of the Himalayas in a way that trekking alone cannot offer.
Nepal Himalayas Trekking Company, under the leadership of Mr. Prakash, provided impeccable service, from start to finish. We are grateful for their hospitality and for making this dream trip a reality. For anyone considering an Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour, we cannot recommend this company highly enough!
