Manaslu Trek Temperature: Best Time, Seasonal Variations & Weather Guide

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most breathtaking yet challenging trekking routes. Knowing the Manaslu trek temperature throughout the year is crucial for planning a safe and enjoyable journey. The weather varies significantly across seasons, affecting visibility, difficulty level, and overall trekking experience.

Manaslu Trek Temperature by Season

Spring (March-May)

🌑 Temperature: 5°C to 20°C (41°F to 68°F)
Spring is one of the best times for the Manaslu Circuit Trek. The temperature is mild, and the trails bloom with rhododendrons and lush greenery. Expect warm days and cooler nights, with little rainfall. The high-altitude areas, such as Larkya La Pass (5,106m), may still have patches of snow, but the trekking conditions are excellent.

Summer/Monsoon (June – August)

🌑 Temperature: 10°C to 25°C (50°F to 77°F)
Summer brings warmer temperatures but also heavy monsoon rains, making the trails slippery and increasing the risk of landslides. Humidity is high, and leeches are common in lower regions. While the landscape becomes lush and green, this season is not ideal for trekking due to poor visibility and difficult conditions.

Autumn (September – November)

🌑 Temperature: 0°C to 18°C (32°F to 64°F)
Autumn is the peak season for the Manaslu trek due to stable weather and perfect trekking temperatures. The skies are clear, offering stunning views of Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) and surrounding peaks. Days are warm, while nights at higher altitudes can be chilly. This is the best time for a comfortable and scenic trek.

Winter (December – February)

🌑 Temperature: -10°C to 10°C (14°F to 50°F)
Winter in the Manaslu region is extremely cold, especially in high-altitude areas. Heavy snowfall can block the Larkya La Pass, making the trek difficult and even dangerous. However, lower elevations remain trek-friendly for those prepared for cold conditions. If you enjoy solitude and snow-covered landscapes, winter can still be an option with proper gear.

Best Time for the Manaslu Trek

The best time for the Manaslu Circuit Trek is spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) when the temperatures are moderate, and the skies are clear. Avoid the monsoon season due to rain and landslides, and only trek in winter if you’re experienced in cold-weather trekking.
