Overview

Mera Peak (6476m) is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal and is the highest of all official trekking peaks in Nepal. Located in the south of Everest, Mera Peak is the frequently operated peak climbing package of Nepal. If you have good physical stamina and an extrovert sense of adventure, Mera Peak Climbing is for you. However, Mera Peak is not technically a difficult peak but you need to have a strong physical condition and hands-on skills in mountaineering.

We start the Mera Peak trip with a beautiful and scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We begin our trek by heading southeast of Lukla and on the way, we can explore the superb scenery and abundant wildlife. We can possibly catch a legendary Yeti. During Mera Peak Climbing, we can also witness the magnificent views of some of the world-highest mountains including Mount Everest, Mount Cho Oyu, Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Ama Dablam, and many others. If the weather circumstances are favorable, it is possible to ascend the peak and descend back on the same day. We require a special permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association for the Mera Peak Trek.

Nepal Himalayas Trekking cordially welcomes you all for this popular peak-climbing trip in Nepal. You will have a great time with us during your Nepal holidays.

Mera Peak Location and Reaching There

Mera Peak Climbing is a popular climbing adventure in Nepal. It takes you to the Hinku valley in the Everest region for the climb. Although it is a climbing adventure, it is nothing like an expedition adventure. Mera peak summit can be climbed in a single day from the base of the 6,476 meters high beautiful peak.

Mera Peak climbing adventure is a combination of trekking and climbing adventures at a go. The adventure takes you on a beautiful trekking adventure to the Mera Peak base camp first before the climb begins.

Accommodation and Food

The adventure uses a lodge and tented camp as accommodation in the mountains. You will stay on a tented camp at the Mera Peak Base Camp and high camp and in other places, lodge accommodation is available.

Since the trekking and climbing adventure goes along a remote area, you will have limited options for food. Unlike the Everest base camp trekking route, the trekking route to Mera peak is less-trodden and has fewer options for food items. However, you can enjoy enough food like dal bhat and some other items during the adventure.

The Climbing Part and Difficulty

You will go for the climbing part from the base camp and complete the adventure in a day. It is a day trip from the high camp to the summit of Mera Peak. You start really early in the morning and reach the summit and return back to the base camp.

Since Mera is a trekking peak, you can summit the mountain in a day from the high camp and return to the base camp. Although it is a climbing adventure, it is not as difficult as a mountaineering adventure. However, it is challenging for sure.
